Route 66 On the Air Special Event

Exciting News: Joplin Amateur Radio Club Joins Route 66 On the Air Special Event!

We are thrilled to announce that the Joplin Amateur Radio Club (JARC) will be actively participating in the highly anticipated Route 66 On the Air Special Event! This unique event celebrates the history and nostalgia of the iconic Route 66 highway, bringing together amateur radio enthusiasts from around the globe.

What is the Route 66 On the Air Special Event?

Route 66 On the Air is an annual event that pays homage to the “Mother Road,” connecting radio operators along the historic Route 66, which stretches from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California. This event is a fantastic opportunity for hams to make contacts with special event stations located in cities along the route. Each participating station will use a special call sign, providing a unique and exciting challenge for operators to collect contacts from as many stations as possible.

JARC’s Role in the Event

JARC is proud to be a part of this historic celebration. Our club will be operating under the special event call sign K6C, representing the spirit and enthusiasm of the Joplin community.

  • Special Call Sign: W6N
