Carthage Tower Project now online!

Amazing progress has been made on the 199′ Carthage tower located behind the King Saver grocery store in the last couple days.  Removal of the two large microwave horns has been accomplished and hardline is being run as I type this story, (completed).  Thanks to the tireless efforts of Rex, WA0UPB, and Willis, K0SMK, the dream is becoming a reality.  Several volunteers from the club assisted with much of the grunt work including Dale, John, Jared, Ian, Dean, and Chris.  Apologies to anyone I missed. (Let me know and I will add credit here.) However, there is still much to do. The repeater was hooked up and tested with an output of 25 watts.

This is the old Mercy Hospital repeater that was once on Jim Scott’s house. The frequency is 145.19, negative offset, with 91.5 pl tone.  We will eventually have Fusion and DMR on this device.  Stay tuned for further details.
